Raindrops, Crop Top

Have you guys ever seen any of the Underworld movies? I didn’t know what it was but Bobby forced me to watch it and I loved the way Kate Beckinsale dressed in it! (literally the only thing I remember about the movie haha) She wore these long black trench coats and the whole vibe seemed very New York and totally cool. Unfortunately, it was something most people would only wear on a Halloween type outing (I mean seriously when else could you wear a full leather outfit with a black trench coat, right??) so I decided to share with you guys how I would try and pull it off in a normal setting! (Well, NY normal, we love our black clothing)

I figured it would look best as more of a sporty outfit and a long coat like this calf hair trench is a great way to wear a crop-top outside of the gym when you would normally feel a bit naked (especially on the streets of New York!) I especially like it because you can quickly cover up when you walk past the creepy guys on the street. The leather joggers are a great way to dress up the crop top and dress down the coat which brings the whole outfit together, especially when you pair it with a pair of cool black booties like these Charlotte Olympia. I think one of the important aspects is if you are wearing leather, try not to have more than one piece have the same color or texture, in this outfit the jacket is mostly pony hair, the pants are leather and the boots are suede, but they still go together even though the are all black they are different enough that you don’t look like you are wearing a suit haha.

Lastly, I am so happy I got the chance to shoot with this Alexander McQueen umbrella! I’ve had my eye on it for a while. Bobby got it for me for Christmas but I have a habit of leaving my umbrella places so I was scared to use it for the first couple of months until I realized I would never let it out of my sight let alone leave it somewhere haha.

“Short” Fall Days

Fall and Spring are always the best seasons. Sadly, neither last long in New York City. The weather has been cloudy, rainy and gloomy all week – which doesn’t suck too much because at least it’s not rainy AND cold, that would be a terrible combo. I’ve been wearing shorts all week because it’s not that cold, and it’s probably the last week to wear shorts before the Winter breeze gets here.

Speaking of shorts, I have been obsessed with these Abercrombie Shorts. I know Abercombie sounds SO high school, but I swear their style has changed and the quality is pretty good ( at least now they don’t have that moose logo printed everywhere). Their prices are very affordable and they always have promotions going on . My top is actually from Abercrombie too! People say when you get older, you will do things to make yourself feel young. I guess for me it starts from wearing high school kids clothes!

Recently I have been making a lot of juices. Thanks to my good friend, Serena, who got me a juice maker for graduation. I started my first juice cleansing in February with Blue Print Cleanse, because I wanted to detox (mainly from alcohol).  In the beginning, I was reluctant to try the green juice because it seems disgusting.   However after tasting Blue Print’s green juice I fell in love with it. Not only I felt healthy consuming so many vegetables, but I felt like I was treating my body right with all of the vitamins and minerals in the ridiculous amount of fresh produce I was juicing each day.

I have been experimenting different juices and recipes and most of my friends love my green juice recipe:
1 rib of celery
5 romaine leaves
1 cucumber (adding freshness)
2 apples (makes it sweeter and less “grassy”)
1 cup of parsley
1 cup of kale
1 handful of spinach
1 slice of lemon
1 slice of lime
ginger (I love it super gingery)
I’ve got a good beet juice recipe too! but I felt like the green juice is much healthier. Enjoy 🙂

To all the mommy out there, HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!

I know it’s not easy to raise me, but you’d always be there when I needed you…and you always were. I never really thought about what that meant till I got older and began to realize how often your time and energy were devoted to me. I look at you and see a walking miracle, because you’re so strong. Your unfailing love without limit, and your unselfishness makes me so grateful. I know that I wouldn’t be who I am today without your love. Mom I love you 🙂

Being a mom isn’t that easy, well especially being mine…I was a troublemaker when I was little. (or should I say I still am?) My mom and I wear the same sizes clothes and shoes, we would always share our things.  I remember my first time wearing heels, was borrowing my mom’s 3 inch tall Jimmy Choo. It was very classic, beige patent leather and I had to wear it to my choir recital.  My school was full of lawns, and obviously I wouldn’t know how to walk on grass.  Those Jimmy’s ended up as dirty as my rain boots, let along with scratch marks and torn leather. Thanks mom for letting me borrow and ruin your stuff all the time! I know I can be careless some times…most of the times, but I promise when I start earning big bucks I’ll get you whatever you want 🙂

“M” is for the million things she gave me,
“O” means only that she’s growing old,
“T” is for the tears she shed to save me,
“H” is for her heart of purest gold;
“E” is for her eyes, with love-light shining,
“R” means right, and right she’ll always be,
Put them all together, they spell “MOTHER,”
A word that means the world to me.

Diva & Her Puppy

I feel like a baa baa sheep wearing this big, fluffy shearling jacket. It looks like it’s a very warm jacket, but it really isn’t.  The weather in New York has been very odd lately- super cold  & windy one day, then hot the other day. Thanks to global warming!  When I was living in LA, people often put bling out collars and wear fancy tees for their little doggies. However in New York people put their dogs into their handbags, and shop in luxury department stores. It’s a complete different level of babying their puppies. Since Charcoal is a dude,I made him wear a shearling jacket so we could both be matchie matchie 🙂  (I’ve been getting a lot of comments saying that Charcoal looks like me… really? Charcoal=Me Me= Dog? Like mother like son I guess)

Turkey Day is coming up, which meant eat eat eat and shop shop shop!

“In the end, only three things matter: how much you loved, how gently you lived, and how gracefully you let go of things not meant for you.”-Buddha

I’ve never had a shoot with Charcoal, my roommate, my son and my everything 🙂 (Actually I had a shoot with him on the leash in my first post, but that’s a year ago). A lot of you have met Charcoal, but if you haven’t here’s a little more info. I got Charcoal when I was in Los Angeles (after high school). When he was a baby he looks like a little rat, because of his hair color and his long tail. He got into a bad accident and now his left front leg is crooked. Charcoal is an absolute diva and attention seeker, he loves to tan and lay on furry things. Most of the time he’s just chillin in his bed, my bed or the couch- sleeping. Well winter is coming up, and we will be cuddling in bed a lot 🙂  (Netflix + food in bed= awesome hibernation mode)

It’s getting pretty cold in nyc. People, bundle up!

Never be ashamed of yourself. Because you are born into one skin. You can scar it, stretch it, burn it, mark it, tan it, peel it. But you are always in it, so you might as well learn to love it.
