Happy Memorial Day Weekend! I hope you all had a nice little vacay 🙂 Bobby and I decided to stay in New York for the holiday because we will be heading to Los Angeles next month. Also – it has been rainy/cloudy here all weekend and I wanted to be able to lay on my couch in my PJ’s and munch on some snacks and watch TV   all weekend (shh don’t tell my trainer!).

By the way, how awkward is it to pose for photos in busy locations?! I still get shy because people always stop and wonder what you are doing or look and stare. I usually love to stay in the city on holidays and take my vacations on  non-holiday weekends.  It’s because the city gets super quiet, and we were able to walk through the streets to take cool photos for the blog without having people stop for us. Well, it’s usually not a big problem for me because I am just posing but Bobby is always dodging cars and waiting for people to get out of the frame so it was definitely easier for him to get the shots this time. So if you travel on off days or stay in big cities on three day weekends make sure you make the most of it and get some good pictures!

I wasn’t planning on doing a blog post, but found this really cool door in the Meatpacking District after having brunch at Catch. A little history for you who don’t live in New York- In the mid-18th century, the Meatpacking District was a residential and industrial area that produced heavy iron work. Fast forward to the early-19th century, the district was filled with slaughter houses, and this is where the name “Meatpacking District’ came from. When you walk around the area, there are still a lot of heavy iron work, which combined with large entrance ways that were created to help transport the meat, creates a very cool rustic atmosphere. Also – the Meatpacking District is well known for their cobblestone streets but I didn’t get a chance to take photos on them this time (but don’t worry I have some cobblestone shots coming up for you very soon!), I was too focused on this cool looking entrance way.

Whenever Bobby and I go out, we often get compliments (sometimes I can’t tell if they think it is silly or cool but I’ll take it as a compliment anyway!) on how we are matching. I decided to add a couple photos of him to my blog, and share with you guys how I help pick his outfits too 😉 He takes so long to get ready, and changes multiple times before he can pick the outfit – It’s like a mini fashion show for me. I swear he takes longer to get ready than me and his outfits are a lot more simple! I know he is reading this though so I will stop there before I lose my photographer.

Suede on Leather

img_1774Hey guys, I’m sorry for being MIA. I said I’d be back to blogging but it’s really hard to find time to shoot, because I’m either looking like crap after a whole week of work or working on the weekends. Either way, I posted more photos this time to make up for the past couple weeks.

Last weekend, I was wondering around Soho and Nolita area. I came across this Japanese Butcher store called Japan Premium Beef. I’m not a huge fan of meat, but I would crave it every now and then because I’m constantly low on iron. MAN, their beef quality is SO good. If you’re around the city, I would highly recommend to get their hanger steak.

Alright, back to fashion 🙂  I usually don’t like wearing leather on leather just because it’s a little too matrix for me. However, my boss, Alida wore full on leather with different textures, and inspired me to do the same. At the end of the day, there’s nothing called “too much leather” right? 😉 Either way, I think mixing suede and leather isn’t that bad after all, what do you think? Plus the pink suede shows my feminine side.

Speaking of which, the jacket that I’m wearing is actually on sale in my store 😉 I have an extra piece in size small. And you can check out my other leather items here

A Furry Black Bear

I hope everyone had a wonderful thanksgiving. I’m sorry for my belated post… I have been working on selling leather jackets on Ebay instead of updating my blog. But good news is that I have a lot of women’s and men’s leather jackets! Click into the “SHOP” tab above to see what items I’m selling. Most of them are current season which are still selling in stores!

So I’ve been struggling with writing my blog, not because I don’t have photos or outfits to post. More like I can’t write. Trust me, I want to share everything with you guys, but my writing sucks. So please do correct me if you see anything on my blog that sounds grammatically funnt, or just weird.  Speaking of which, my boyfriend, Bobby has taken over Jen’s spot as a photographer for my blog. Here’s a video of how he feels about this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fFzKi-o4rHw

Since the weather has been super warm lately (even warmer than the west coast), I haven’t get a lot of chance to wear my faux fur jackets. I got this jacket for $99 in Alice & Olivia’s Sample sale. This is my winter to go outfit: a black long sleeve tee (usually the uniqlo HeatTech tee), a pair of leather pants, fur coat & boots. If it’s cold I’ll add scarves, beanie, gloves and another sweater on top. Other than that, I invest in my shoes, bags and my outerwear. Oh! and don’t forget sunglasses, because sometimes I’m too lazy to put on make up 😛

Denim On Denim

I’m not too sure when denim on denim is back in trend, but last time I’ve checked it was back when Britney Spears was still popping. I decided to try on my denims and realized that it doesn’t look that bad! (Maybe because I’m used to seeing all the bloggers wearing denim and denim already) However, I think the secret to pulling off the look is to wear different shades of denim- lighter shades draw attentions while darker shades create a slimming effect. Moreover, if you have similar shades, you can play with the different washes, fabrics, and prints on the denim. If you want a more chic look, you can wear a pair of boyfriend jeans or skinny jeans with a denim shirt or jacket (white tee inside) and pair the outfit with a pointy or open toes heels.
