Raindrops, Crop Top

Have you guys ever seen any of the Underworld movies? I didn’t know what it was but Bobby forced me to watch it and I loved the way Kate Beckinsale dressed in it! (literally the only thing I remember about the movie haha) She wore these long black trench coats and the whole vibe seemed very New York and totally cool. Unfortunately, it was something most people would only wear on a Halloween type outing (I mean seriously when else could you wear a full leather outfit with a black trench coat, right??) so I decided to share with you guys how I would try and pull it off in a normal setting! (Well, NY normal, we love our black clothing)

I figured it would look best as more of a sporty outfit and a long coat like this calf hair trench is a great way to wear a crop-top outside of the gym when you would normally feel a bit naked (especially on the streets of New York!) I especially like it because you can quickly cover up when you walk past the creepy guys on the street. The leather joggers are a great way to dress up the crop top and dress down the coat which brings the whole outfit together, especially when you pair it with a pair of cool black booties like these Charlotte Olympia. I think one of the important aspects is if you are wearing leather, try not to have more than one piece have the same color or texture, in this outfit the jacket is mostly pony hair, the pants are leather and the boots are suede, but they still go together even though the are all black they are different enough that you don’t look like you are wearing a suit haha.

Lastly, I am so happy I got the chance to shoot with this Alexander McQueen umbrella! I’ve had my eye on it for a while. Bobby got it for me for Christmas but I have a habit of leaving my umbrella places so I was scared to use it for the first couple of months until I realized I would never let it out of my sight let alone leave it somewhere haha.

HMD

To all the mommy out there, HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!

I know it’s not easy to raise me, but you’d always be there when I needed you…and you always were. I never really thought about what that meant till I got older and began to realize how often your time and energy were devoted to me. I look at you and see a walking miracle, because you’re so strong. Your unfailing love without limit, and your unselfishness makes me so grateful. I know that I wouldn’t be who I am today without your love. Mom I love you 🙂

Being a mom isn’t that easy, well especially being mine…I was a troublemaker when I was little. (or should I say I still am?) My mom and I wear the same sizes clothes and shoes, we would always share our things.  I remember my first time wearing heels, was borrowing my mom’s 3 inch tall Jimmy Choo. It was very classic, beige patent leather and I had to wear it to my choir recital.  My school was full of lawns, and obviously I wouldn’t know how to walk on grass.  Those Jimmy’s ended up as dirty as my rain boots, let along with scratch marks and torn leather.Thanks mom for letting me borrow and ruin your stuff all the time! I know I can be careless some times…most of the times, but I promise when I start earning big bucks I’ll get you whatever you want 🙂

“M” is for the million things she gave me,
“O” means only that she’s growing old,
“T” is for the tears she shed to save me,
“H” is for her heart of purest gold;
“E” is for her eyes, with love-light shining,
“R” means right, and right she’ll always be,
Put them all together, they spell “MOTHER,”
A word that means the world to me.
